I offer effective outpatient, individualized, psychological care. I have a general practice although I specialize in anxiety and trauma counselling for individuals aged 10 and up. My office space is next to the 102 HWY exit in Bedford, NS. It is secure, sound proof and very welcoming!
My focus is to help individuals heal, energize themselves, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. I use therapies such as solution focused brief therapy, trauma informed care, cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion focused therapy and client centered psychotherapy etc.

Hello and a warm welcome! Janice is a Registered Counselling Therapist- C within the province of Nova Scotia and a Canadian Certified Counsellor- Q with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She is also certified as an Registered Holistic Nutrition Consultant (RHN). Her education includes a Bachelor in Psychology, Masters in Counselling Psychology and diploma in Natural Nutrition.
Janice uses an integrated approach to healing including somatic, solution-focused, and cognitive therapies to resolve trauma and symptoms of anxiety and depression, self-esteem, assertiveness and improve mental health functioning. Originally from Newfoundland, Janice currently lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia and works from a beautiful, private office location in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia.
Her approach is friendly and warm while focusing on how you feel, what you need, symptom reduction and what goals you wish to achieve. There is plenty of parking available at the Kingswood Business Center. Enter the front door and take the stairs or elevator to the second floor. Walk into the doors labelled Business Center and have a seat in the quiet waiting area until .your appointment.
At your first appointment, we will review your confidentiality rights and any limitations. We will review your contact information and some personal information. We will then discuss your current concern(s) and a therapy plan.
A therapy plan will be developed with your needs in mind. We can discuss number of sessions, therapy approach, your wants and concerns etc in your first session. Remember, therapy is about you so your input is welcome.
