Hello and a warm welcome! Janice is a Registered Counselling Therapist- C within the province of Nova Scotia and a Canadian Certified Counsellor- Q with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She is also certified as an Registered Holistic Nutrition Consultant (RHN). Her education includes a Bachelor in Psychology, Masters in Counselling Psychology and diploma in Natural Nutrition.
Janice uses an integrated approach to healing including somatic, solution-focused, and cognitive therapies to resolve trauma and symptoms of anxiety and depression, self-esteem, assertiveness and improve mental health functioning. Originally from Newfoundland, Janice currently lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia and works from a beautiful, private office location in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia.
Her approach is friendly and warm while focusing on how you feel, what you need, symptom reduction and what goals you wish to achieve. For example, you may want to learn how to reduce your anxiety levels, improve relationships, learn better communication skills and start enjoying your life more! Therapy can help you understand what factors are impacting your happiness, problem solve your concerns and teach techniques to increase your self esteem, reduce stress, become more assertive and learn more about yourself.

I have a friendly, casual and practical approach to counselling with a sprinkling of humor as appropriate. Counselling should bring the warm feeling of having a cup of coffee with a trusted confident. I think of counselling as a partnership, only you can be the expert on your own life and my role is to help equip you with strategies, tools and techniques to support you on your journey. Or maybe you just need an objective person to hear you.
After working in the corporate world, I understand the stress and anxiety that can be brought on by our jobs.
